Sandard deviation helps to understand how far apart the numbers are in data set while variance on the opposite side of the wall provides an actual value to how much numbers present in the set of data approximate from the mean. Both of the measures in distribution reflect upon variability but their units differ:
Th expression of standard deviation is given in same units as legit values which are original (e. g) meters or minutes.
The expression of variance is given in much larger units (e.g.) meters squared.
